Dog Boarding
At The Hound & The Cat, Overnight guests enjoy all-day play and are tucked away each night in their individual cozy beds. As the sun sets, each dog unwinds by enjoying a delicious meal (to be provided by their owners).
We will do everything we can to ensure your dog is happy and healthy during their stay and you can feel confident knowing your dog will be well-cared for in our safe and secure environment. We will update you as regularly as you like with photos and videos so you can keep in touch - we're even happy to facetime so you can say hi!
We are fully licensed by Hertsmere Borough Council (License No. HBC-DDB-007-2) ).
Safety & Security comes First
- We are extensively pet first aid and CPR.
- Each dog is required to pass a socialisation interview (meet and greet), be neutered if over 6 months old (males), and be up to date with their vaccinations.
- We require all dogs to be up to date with the Kennel Cough vaccine.
- Our home is secure and we even have separate rooms for dogs that need their own space.
Terms and Conditions for Boarding & Day Care
- All customers must complete a registration form.
- You must provide proof that your dog is up to date with flea and working as well as vaccinations, including kennel cough. Also, any medical conditions, allergies and behavioral issues that the dog suffers from, must be disclosed by the owner before boarding.
- Unfortunately we cannot board dogs who are in season.
- For the safety and hygiene of our guests all bowls & toys are supplied by The Hound & The Cat. Bedding can be supplied by us or the owner, though we recommend if your dog sleeps in a dog bed that you bring this along so that they feel more at home. We take no responsibility for loss or damage to any bedding, leads or other items that are supplied by the owner of the pet.
- To ensure the safety of our staff and other guests boarding, dogs will only be accepted after we meet with the dog & owner and we reserve the right to refuse any animal.
- It is the owner's responsibility to provide enough food for you dog for the length of their stay. Should we need to buy more, a charge for the amount paid will be added to your bill
- Full payment of the balance must be made before you collect your dog. Cash or bank transfer is accepted. Bank transfer must be made before your dog is collected.
- A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the cost for the duration of the booking will be required upfront to secure any booking. During peak periods and school holidays the non-refundable deposit will be 50%.
